A. Privacy Statement
Value Added Marketing Pty Ltd ("VAM") is committed to and respects your right to the privacy of your personal information and will only collect and use personal information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). VAM's intention is to use the personal information provided to us by you to make any dealings with VAM better suited to your needs.
VAM believes that choice is one of the most important privacy principles. You have the choice not to submit personal information (other than as may be required by law) to us although this may result in us being unable to provide services to you or reduce your ability to eg fully participate in all aspects of our web site.
B. What Information we Collect
Generally, VAM may keep a record of your name, contact details (ie address, telephone number, etc), and when collecting personal information for business purposes your professional details (eg qualifications), speciality, areas of interest), details on your practice/business (eg size, use of products) and details of your dealings with us. Other information may be collected from other sources but those sources will provide details of what personal information is being collected.
VAM will not collect or use sensitive information about you (eg personal information about health, race, political opinion, etc) without your consent.
VAM collects and uses personal information for a number of purposes that are outlined below. VAM may use your personal information to contact you but will not sell or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party unless otherwise disclosed in this Policy or as disclosed to you when you submit your information. VAM will not use your personal information for any other purposes without first notifying you and obtaining your consent.
C. What we do with it
VAM will use personal information only for the purpose indicated to you when you provided it. Generally, such business uses will be:
1. Sending you material on our activities that may be of interest to you and tailoring marketing services to suit your needs.
2. Administering conferences, symposia, expert panels, seminars or other meetings or events organised by us and which you agree to attend or be involved with.
3. Administering disease awareness/management programs or other similar programs organised by us and which you agree to participate in or be involved with.
4. Managing, planning and arranging meetings between you and our representatives.
5. Monitoring and reviewing our compliance with relevant regulations and codes of conduct in our dealings with you.
6. Generating customer lists for the purposes of market research.
VAM will not disclose, sell, rent or exchange such personally identifiable information to any other organization or entity unless the user is first notified and expressly agrees to it, or as otherwise required by law. However, VAM may share your personal information with agents, contractors or business partners in order that they may perform services for us. In such cases, these third parties will be bound to maintain your rights to privacy.
D. Specifics
1. Web sites VAM will only collect personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address, when it is voluntarily submitted to us at a VAM website. We (or our provider of the service you request) will only use this personal information to comply with your request for information or as otherwise disclosed to you at the location at which you submit your personal information. We may also use your personal information to provide you with additional information about our services and to send you information on other products and services that may be of interest to you. From time to time, we may refer to your personal information to better understand your needs and determine how we can improve our services.
VAM websites may also use information in aggregate form to track the total number of visitors to our site, the number of visitors to each page of our site, and the domain names of your internet service providers. No personal information is available in this process.
Cookies: VAM websites may use a technology called "cookies". A cookie is a token that a server gives to your browser when you access a website. Cookies are capable of storing many types of data. Cookies help provide additional functionality to the site or to help us analyse site usage more accurately. For instance, our server may set a cookie that keeps you from having to enter a password more than once during a visit to one of our sites. In all cases in which cookies are used, the cookie will not collect personal information except with your explicit permission.
IP Addresses: An IP (internet protocol) address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer by your internet service provider when you log on. Your IP address is not linked to your personal information but we do preserve the right to use IP addresses to identify individuals who may threaten our site, services or customers.
VAM websites may contain links to other sites that we think may be of interest to you. However, VAM is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.
2. Mail and email information If you wish to stop receiving any e-mails or other consumer communications from VAM which may be sent to you in the future based on your request for this information, or if you have submitted personally identifiable information through a VAM Web site and would like to have that information deleted from our records, please notify us via the form on the site or by other communication addressed to VAM. VAM will preserve the contents of any e-mail message that you send if we believe that we have a legal requirement to do so.
All information provided to VAM (by whatever means) is secure to the extent reasonably possible using existing technology and practices. Unauthorized third parties should not be able to access it during transmission or when stored. We will store the information that you share with us securely and will take appropriate steps to protect it from unauthorized access or disclosure. We will limit access to this information to those VAM personnel with a need to know. We educate our staff about their duty to protect your privacy.
F. Complaints Procedure
VAM will make every effort to maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of any personal information you supply to us. If you wish to make additions or other corrections to the information that you have sent in, please notify us via the form on the website or by other communication addressed to VAM. If you have a complaint about the manner in which VAM has collected or used your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer the address below.
G. Changes to our Privacy Policy
VAM Pty Ltd reserves the right to change this Policy as it deems appropriate. Should any changes occur to our Policy, it will be posted on our websites and available on request.
